Celebrations of the Heart!!!

I decided to use this title because this hop is to celebrate a couple people that I love dearly and the 2nd anniversary of my blog.

My father and one of my best friends share the same birthday on April 12th and I wanted to make something for them both. All of the blogs on this hop have made something in honor of someone or something they love and hold dear.

My friend (Staci) and I have known each other since 7th grade and even though we don't see each other very often we love each other and have an uncondionation friendship! HAPPY BIRTHDAY STACI!!!



My father was born April 12, 1958 and he passed away when I was six years old. At that time I understood to a point but not completely and it was a very emotional time for my family. I wish I could say that I remember my father but in truth I really don't but I love to hear about the wonderful man that he was! I have heard stories from perfect strangers that knew my father and to hear the wonderful things they say makes me admire him even more. I am not an emotional person and I think of myself as a strong woman who has been able to successfully deal with many things in my life but the loss of my father is still something that I deal with every single day. I sometimes find myself getting emotional over a song or a thought or for no reason at all.

With all that being said here are my projects.. and I still have a couple more to post but time ran away from me...

I made this card for my brother using Scrappy moms stamps and Pink by design twine and DCWV paper

I made this one for me... I used Emma's stamps and Market Street background stamp with Pink by design twine and DCWV paper

This is the card I made for Staci, I used Kich n Blues digi and bo bunny flowers and some more DCWV paper. The stamps are from Scrappy Moms and I used Sakura gel pens for the coloring

Scrapbookaholic Abby Challenge #3

I was at the New Lenox, IL Michael's store for crop night with Mandie Wade and I wanted to try out her new Camping Critters cartridge...thank you Mandie!!!!!!

April Birthday Blog Hop...April 8-10

Hello!!! Welcome to the April Birthday Blog Hop hosted by Gloria over at http://gloriasgoofycraftspot.blogspot.com/ and she is the starting point so if you did not come over from Glorajean then head on over to Gloria to start from the begining.

I was so happy to be a part of this birthday hop for my friend Gloria and I was super excited to make this card for her and since it also happen to be her hubby's birthday I added one for him too!!! 

She told me that he liked beer and the color orange so I thought of my Smiley Cards cartridge and my favorite Peachy Keen stamps (Laffy Taffy)

I just love these effects

And on to Gloria's card...

This is my first time using my Mickey cartridge and my new PinkStamper Spanish stamps and I almost forgot to add in my happy birthday newspaper so I had to squeeze it in ...I used Scrappy Mom's stamp on the newspaper and I was so happy that it fit perfectly in there. This is a shaped card and it did give me some troubles but I kept on going and I actually really like how it turned out. 

I will be mailing these out to Gloria and her husband with another little something I got for her hopefully on Monday.

Birthday decorations

I made several decor items for this party and I had a blast doing these for her and I am so glad that I was able to!!!

Originally I wanted to do a 3d table setting of this but they were having the party in a game room so I figured it would not be a good idea so I altered it for the wall.

This is the bitten apple of Snow White

My daughter helped me with this one and we I am so proud of her for how great it turned out

She wanted some frames to give away to family and these are the two that I used for the two images I had. The first one I used a clear frame from walmart and the second...took so long but I cut several chipboards and painted and stapled and glued and glittered with tattered Angels but in the end I loved them...(you can't see the back but they are painted gold).

Of course Snow White would not be the same without Dopey!!!

My project for this hop was made with some flowers I purchased from scraps2treasure and I love every single one of her flowers (I have more) I got the frame from Michaels and I used a champaign shimmering paint to coat all of the wood then I used the flowers and a couple of Prima butterflies and some bling of course.

Lucky Charm Blog Hop 3/17

I used Copics to color the Digi from Kich N Bleus Designs

I used my trimmer and mini monograms along with my Scrappy Moms new Spring stamps and some bling too

I have actually never made a charm so this was a huge challenge for me but I used my Mod Podge and some glitter paint from PKS to make this charm and I used my crop-a-dile for the whole and the eyelet.

I Love cupcakes so this had to be a charm for me

and I love my kids and family so this stands for them.

Crafty X- "Pink & Feminine" Blog hop

I was not able to get into my crafty area so I made this with just my trimmer, flowers, glue, ink pad and PBD stamp of the month kit while sitting on the living room floor with my 7 month old and my 4 year old at my sides.

I bought this paper from Archivers last year and was saving it (too pretty) and this seemed like a perfect time to use it.

Scrapbookaholic Abby Challenge #1

Scrapbookaholic By Abby Challenges!!!!!!!!!

Hello, I am so excited to share with you all and welcome you to the very first Scrapbookaholic By Abby Challenges.

We will be having these challenges every two weeks and the themes are so fun!!

This week, Challenge #1 the theme is "Pick Your Own Holiday"

For this challenge I had a hard time deciding on just one so I did the best that I could on the little time I had available to craft. I hope you like... here goes:

Project #1 March 7th - Telephone Patent granted to Alexander Graham Bell in 1876

I used BoBunny papers, Phone is from Nifty Fifties cartridge, stamps are from Market Street Stamps(behind the phone) and Pink by Design and also Scrappy Moms, the flowers are from my stash from when I first started scrapping. (I am a paper and flower hoarder, LOL)

This is the inside of the 9"x4" card

 

I made another because I loved this phone too... and this phone is from the From My Kitchen cartridge while this paper is from We R Memory keepers and the line is called Girls Night Out

Project # 2 March 18 - Sparky the Fire Dog's birthday ( the mascot of the NFPA )

For this card I used plain white, black, red, brown and yellow cardstock with some SEI ink, my Sakura Black Glaze pen and myScrappy moms stamps. The cartridges I used are the Spring (solutions) and the CAC

Project # 3 March 20 - Start of Spring

I used the Spring cart and I used DCWV paper and some PBD twine

Project # 4 March is Music in our schools month over at http://www.brownielocks.com/march.html

I can't remember who made this paper but I know I got it from Michael's last year.

I used my Playtime cartridge and some pearls to coat the piano (they are so shiny) and a little of the rest of the card.
